4GL/Forward is a comprehensive service which moves current users of the Hewlett-Packard Allbase/4GL (HP-TODAY) product to the latest version of the TODAY 4GL or BuildProfessional. Allbase/4GL has been formally discontinued by Hewlett-Packard as of July 1, 1996. Hewlett-Packard will drop all support for Allbase/4GL as of July 1, 1997. Allbase/4GL was originally written by TODAY Systems and represents an early version of the TODAY 4GL language. Although the products have diverged slightly over the years, the 4GL/Forward program combines our years of experience with automated conversion tools to make an upgrade from Allbase/4GL to TODAY a painless process for the user.
General
Innovative technology adopters who were early in moving to 4GLs now face the problem of either switching to a new client/server, graphically-oriented environment that is incompatible with existing code or remaining with a system that cannot meet future development and deployment needs.
Every decision maker whose company has an Allbase/4GL application should know about TODAY Systems, the original developer of Allbase/4GL. We have continued to enhance the base product independently of Hewlett-Packard; we now offer advanced client/server tools and a simple migration to a graphical environment with full compatibility to existing Allbase/4GL applications.
